Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gio Naza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Strikes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Naza's entrance music is Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 2, fighting out of London, Gio Naza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Carlos Strikes!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strikes is looking to clinch but Naza is avoiding it.
Naza shoots in for a takedown but Strikes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Strikes throws a body kick that misses.
Naza shoots for a double leg takedown but Strikes sprawls well. He's pushed Naza's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Strikes looks to land a body kick but Naza moved away.
Naza shoots in and drives through. Strikes sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gio Naza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Naza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Strikes avoids it really well and circles away.
A clash of legs there as Strikes blocks the low kick.
Strikes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Naza wants the takedown. Strikes is fighting it off but Naza persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Strikes's guard against the cage.

Strikes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Carlos Strikes wasn't active enough on the ground.
Naza blocks a low kick nicely.
Naza changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Strikes tries to avoid it but Naza manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Strikes to the ground. Strikes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Naza thows a body shot but no joy.

Strikes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Strikes leaves Naza with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Strikes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Naza swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Naza turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Strikes tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Naza's elbow.

Naza is stalling here. Strikes is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Naza seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Strikes has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gio Naza will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
