PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yevgeniy Petrovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jakob Broberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Broberg has chosen LMFAO-Sexy and I know it as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yevgeniy Petrovich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jakob Broberg!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Broberg misses with a looping right.

Broberg closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Petrovich did well to prevent Broberg getting side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Let's hope that Broberg has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Petrovich is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Broberg pulls his head out easily.

Broberg is looking to clinch but Petrovich is avoiding it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The ground and pound from Broberg seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Broberg misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jakob Broberg was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Petrovich's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Broberg connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Petrovich scrambles back to his feet.

Broberg throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Petrovich sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Broberg bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Petrovich tries to sprawl but Broberg drives through with a takedown into half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jakob Broberg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Broberg counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Broberg is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jakob Broberg was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Broberg throws a jab but it's blocked by Petrovich.

Broberg throws a hook to the side of Petrovich's head but Petrovich sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Petrovich shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Broberg as he avoids it easily.
Broberg misses with a looping right.
Broberg throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Broberg bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Petrovich is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Broberg's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Broberg seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jakob Broberg is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well, if Broberg is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Broberg fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Petrovich sprawls well initially but Broberg persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Broberg takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Petrovich moves into full guard.

Petrovich looking for a guillotine here but Broberg defends easily.

Broberg stays in close to Petrovich's body and controls the position.
Yevgeniy Petrovich has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Broberg shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Jakob Broberg comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Broberg has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
