Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bembol Oblaks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Deep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bembol Oblaks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Deep!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Deep gets caught flat footed, as Oblaks shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Deep keeping moving, preventing Oblaks from controlling successfully.
Oblaks wants to pass the guard but Deep is keeping the position.

Oblaks drops back looking for a leg! Deep is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Deep manages to kick Oblaks off! Oblaks jumps back into Deep's guard.

Oblaks drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Deep manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Oblaks has Deep in his guard.

Oblaks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Oblaks tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Deep stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oblaks swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Deep wants to control from the top but Oblaks keeps moving.
Deep slips nicely into half guard.

Oblaks is defending against the submission attempts here by Deep.
Deep prevents Oblaks from improving his position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Deep seems to be working for a kimura but Oblaks defends the submission attempt.

Oblaks is refusing to be controlled, as Deep sits in half guard.
Oblaks wants to control but Deep is keeping busy.
Deep seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Oblaks does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oblaks wants to improve his position but Deep is controlling well.

Deep is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Oblaks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Deep.

Deep is working for a kimura but Oblaks is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oblaks holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Deep is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Oblaks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Deep.

Deep wants to control from the top but Oblaks keeps moving.
Deep might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Oblaks kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Deep is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

That was a close round but I would say that Bembol Oblaks will probably get the nod.

Oblaks throws a chopping leg kick but Deep manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Oblaks shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Deep manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Oblaks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Deep is keeping the position for now.
Deep is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Oblaks is not content to let Deep control the position.

Oblaks is in trouble now - Deep has advanced to mount!
Oblaks tries to hold on but Deep pushes him away.
Deep seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Oblaks is holding on tight.
Oblaks tries to lock up and control but Deep gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Deep with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Oblaks is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Deep trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Deep moves to back control.

Oblaks is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Deep gets his way!

Oblaks is having to fend off submission attempts from Deep, who is looking to sink in the choke. Deep doesn't have the hooks in though and Oblaks manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

Deep bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Oblaks's guard.

Oblaks working for a triangle but Deep defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oblaks has control of Deep's left arm, preventing Deep from doing any damage.
Oblaks looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Deep shoots in but no luck this time.

Oblaks tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Oblaks has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Deep is looking for a sweep.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Oblaks is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Deep has escaped the position, nice work there.
Oblaks wants to stand but Deep is controlling his arm.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bembol Oblaks will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Oblaks closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Oblaks lands in his opponent's guard.
Deep is trying to control the position but Oblaks postures up.
Bembol Oblaks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Oblaks wants to control from the top but Deep keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Deep wants to sweep here but Oblaks controlling him for the moment.

Deep is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bembol Oblaks wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Deep stalks Oblaks and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Oblaks's face. Oblaks staggers backwards, shaken.

Oblaks throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Deep tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Oblaks is in Deep's guard.
Deep wants to sweep but no luck.
Oblaks wants to control from the top but Deep keeps moving.
Deep looking to hit a scissor sweep but Oblaks is one step ahead there.

We're going to have a standup here because Bembol Oblaks wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Deep throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oblaks's waist but Oblaks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Deep off to one side.
Deep shoots in for a takedown but Oblaks shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Oblaks closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Oblaks lands in his opponent's guard.

Well Oblaks has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
