Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Hale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Melvin Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Justin Hale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Melvin Gabriel !
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabriel shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hale eats them both and turns towards Gabriel to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Hale throws a shot to the body.
Hale tries to clinch up.
Hale connects with a solid leg kick.
Gabriel looks gassed!
Gabriel fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hale listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Justin Hale seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hale looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Hale is stalling in the full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hale has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Hale wants to pass the guard but Gabriel is keeping the position.
Gabriel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hale. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hale gets to his feet - Gabriel follows without any prompting.
Hale cracks Gabriel with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Melvin Gabriel has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gabriel is defended easily by Hale.
Hale lands with a nice combination. Gabriel backs away looking to recover.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hale rushes Gabriel and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Hale escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hale lands with a nice body kick.
Hale cracks the inside of Gabriel 's front leg.

Hale lands a left and a right that send Gabriel crashing to the mat, dazed. Hale thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Gabriel is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hale lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Gabriel is looking to close the distance but Hale sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Gabriel crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Gabriel is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
