PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Norifumi Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bartek Paszkowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki leaves Paszkowski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Aoki slaps away a takedown attempt from Paszkowski, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Paszkowski shoots in and drives through. Aoki sprawls well.
Norifumi Aoki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bartek Paszkowski.
Paszkowski moves out of range of the body kick.
Paszkowski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aoki sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Paszkowski somewhat.

Aoki has managed to clinch.

Paszkowski jumps guard and drags Aoki to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Aoki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Aoki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Aoki seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Paszkowski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aoki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Aoki got a little sloppy there for a moment and Paszkowski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aoki has managed to get both his arms back between Paszkowski's legs - danger averted.

Aoki is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Paszkowski is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Paszkowski has escaped and now he's on top!

Aoki postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Paszkowski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Aoki, into his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Paszkowski accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Aoki wants to stand up but Paszkowski is controlling him.
Aoki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Paszkowski on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Aoki slaps away a takedown attempt from Paszkowski, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Aoki tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Paszkowski shoots in looking for a takedown. Aoki tries to sprawl out of it but Paszkowski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Aoki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Norifumi Aoki will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Aoki drops back looking for a leg! Paszkowski is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Paszkowski manages to kick Aoki off! Aoki jumps back into Paszkowski's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aoki is posturing up here but Paszkowski has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Aoki tries to roll out but it's too tight and Aoki has to tap! Slick submission there by Paszkowski!
