PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dmitriy Fedorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valdez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ojitos de noche serena. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Fedorov.
Fedorov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Valdez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Fedorov moves into the clinch.

Fedorov manages to pull guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Fedorov is looking to stand up but Valdez isn't so interested in that idea.

Valdez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fedorov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Valdez has Fedorov in his guard.
Valdez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fedorov manages to get himself to full guard.

Valdez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fedorov dives on top into guard.
Valdez is trying to control the position but Fedorov postures up.

Valdez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fedorov defends well.

Fedorov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Valdez on the ground.

Valdez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Valdez wants to control the position but Fedorov says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Fedorov tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Valdez.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fedorov stands up over Valdez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Valdez looks gassed!

Valdez pushes a forearm under Fedorov's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Fedorov is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
