Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Quinto Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriguez has chosen Outlandish - Guantanamo as his entrance music. Ben Rodriguez will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor takes a swing at Rodriguez's ribcage but misses.
Rodriguez shoots in but Connor avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rodriguez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Connor throws a push kick but Rodriguez slaps the foot to one side.

and Connor counters with a takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Connor decides to stand back up. Connor steps back and let's Rodriguez get back to his feet.

Rodriguez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Connor wants to stand but Rodriguez is controlling his posture from full guard.

Rodriguez is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Connor frees his head nicely. Oh but Rodriguez has switched to an armbar! Connor is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
