The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko keeps the fight on the outside.
Emelianenko throws the left hand but Machida avoids the punch easily.
Some wild striking there from Emelianenko.
Emelianenko gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Machida to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Machida wants to pass the guard but Emelianenko is keeping the position.
Machida throws a sloppy strike and Emelianenko has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Machida is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Emelianenko!
