PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silverback Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Lyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar comes into the arena with go coors! blaring out of the sound system. Lyle has chosen Sick Puppies-Youre going down as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Silverback Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Lyle!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lyle moves away.
Silverback Lesnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lyle tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lesnar swivels and escapes.
Lesnar misses with a leg kick.
Some wild striking there from Lesnar.
Lyle keeps the fight on the outside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lesnar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lesnar scores with a jab. Lyle acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Lesnar walks into a left hand.

enabling Lyle to counter with a crisp jab.
Lesnar throws an off balance right hand

and Lyle counters with a shoot takedown. Lesnar fights it but they end up in guard.
Lyle throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lyle throws an elbow that misses. Lesnar uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lyle's guard. Nice move by Lesnar!

Lyle is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Lyle swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Lesnar throws a series of punches but Lyle avoids them all with ease.
Lesnar is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lyle.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lyle creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Lyle throws a punch but it's blocked by Lesnar.

Lyle wants to break free but Lesnar has control.
Lyle throws a punch but it's blocked by Lesnar.
Lesnar works on Lyle's body with a couple of short punches.
Lyle throws a head punch that misses.
Lesnar blocking some punches.
Lesnar lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Kyle Lyle has been cut.
Lyle fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lesnar scores with a knee to the head.
Lyle misses with a punch on the inside.

Lyle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sloppy strikes from Lesnar. Those never looked like landing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lesnar drives through and clinches with Lyle against the cage.

Lyle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lesnar sprawls well. Lesnar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lyle gets slowly back to his feet.

Lyle gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lyle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Good exchange - Lyle coming out on top.
Lyle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lyle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lesnar to the mat! Lesnar manages to get full guard.

Lyle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Lyle. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Lyle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Lyle stands up over Lesnar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

and Lyle connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Lyle counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lyle.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lyle postures up and lands a big shot to Lesnar's brow.
Lyle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Lyle is trying to push Lesnar away but Lesnar has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Lesnar has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lyle sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Lesnar is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Lyle's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Lyle uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lesnar.
The fighters circling - Lyle throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Lyle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lesnar but Lesnar pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Silverback Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Lyle.

and Lyle cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Lesnar fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lyle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lesnar pinned against the cage. Lesnar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lesnar throws a lazy right hand but Lyle sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Lyle misses with a head kick.

Lyle closes the distance and clinches.

Lyle tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Lesnar keeps control of Lyle as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lesnar blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Lyle tries to break free but Lesnar pushes him back against the cage.
Lyle wants to get back to striking at distance but Lesnar won't allow it.

Lyle swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Lyle lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Kyle Lyle seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Lesnar lands an elbow inside.
Silverback Lesnar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lesnar blocks an uppercut.
Lesnar pushes Lyle back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lyle.
Lesnar tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lyle's elbow.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lesnar creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Kyle Lyle.
I've got Lyle winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
