PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dew Rain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gegard Mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mousasi is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Pweization. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dew Rain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gegard Mousasi!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rain fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Mousasi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mousasi moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Rain.
Rain is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Rain is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mousasi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mousasi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rain circles away quickly and effectively.

Dew Rain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rain shoots in looking for a takedown. Mousasi tries to sprawl out of it but Rain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mousasi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rain got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mousasi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rain has managed to get both his arms back between Mousasi's legs - danger averted.
