PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Damien Quincy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Killa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quincy's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Requiem for a Dream. Killa is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Shook ones. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kris Killa!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Killa has taken the fight to the clinch.
Killa misses with a hook to the ribs.
Killa blocks a body shot from Quincy.

Killa works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Killa won't allow Quincy to sweep him here.
Quincy has Killa pulled in close to control his posture.
Killa engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Quincy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Quincy is looking for a sweep. Killa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Killa working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Quincy's head.

Killa makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Killa is working Quincy over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Killa stands up over Quincy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Killa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Quincy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Killa has managed to get both his arms back between Quincy's legs - danger averted.

Quincy has his foot on Killa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Killa works his way back into a safe position though.

Quincy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Killa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Quincy defends well.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Quincy tests Killa's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A big left from Killa misses.
Quincy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Killa shoots in looking for a takedown. Quincy tries to sprawl out of it but Killa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Quincy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Killa goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Killa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Quincy has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Quincy there as he acknowledges the shot.

Quincy lands a nice looking body shot.
Killa throws a looping overhand right but Quincy ducks down to avoid it.
Killa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Quincy as he jumps to the side.
Damien Quincy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kris Killa.

and Quincy holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Killa throws a strike but Quincy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Killa has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Killa rolls, trying to escape but Quincy keeps control of the position.

Quincy is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Killa is defending well though. Quincy let's go of the attempt for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Killa.

Horrible takedown by Killa or perhaps it was just good defense by Quincy which made him look bad.
Damien Quincy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kris Killa.
Killa shoots for a double leg takedown but Quincy sprawls well. He's pushed Killa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Killa lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Quincy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Quincy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Killa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Killa is pressing down on Quincy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Quincy is holding on for now.

Quincy has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Killa. Oh but Quincy has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Killa goes limp - he's gone! Quincy jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
