Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Coonly!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Coonly has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.
Coonly avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Coonly escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Coonly is looking for a triangle but Smith pushes his legs off easily.
Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Smith lands a big shot there that rocks Coonly but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith has hold of Coonly's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Coonly manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Coonly wants to control but Smith is having none of it.

Coonly takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
