Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eugeny Arhipov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eugeny Arhipov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sullivan throws a sloppy head kick and Arhipov moves out of range easily.
Sullivan fails to land the takedown.
Arhipov wants to clinch up but Sullivan keeps it at a distance.

Arhipov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Arhipov lands in his opponent's guard.
Arhipov's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Arhipov is pushing down on Sullivan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sullivan is fighting to maintain full guard but Arhipov has managed to sneak the leg through.
Arhipov works his way into side control.

Sullivan is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Arhipov is controlling him well.
Sullivan is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Arhipov decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Sullivan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Arhipov rushes Sullivan and presses him up against the cage.
Sullivan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Arhipov gets control of Sullivan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Arhipov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sullivan is looking to stand up but Arhipov won't let him.
Arhipov seems keen to control Sullivan's posture.

Arhipov is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sullivan tries to stand but Arhipov is controlling from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eugeny Arhipov wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Sullivan tries to sprawl but Arhipov drives through with a takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sullivan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Arhipov asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Sullivan seems a little lost for a moment, as Arhipov dominates the positioning.

Arhipov decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Sullivan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Arhipov.

Arhipov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sullivan's half guard.
Well, if Arhipov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Arhipov slips a jab from Sullivan.

Arhipov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Arhipov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Sullivan has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Sullivan is trying to get back to his feet but Arhipov has full control of the position and if anything, Sullivan has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Sullivan is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Arhipov is looking for the choke from the back position but Sullivan is controlling his hands well.

Sullivan controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Arhipov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Arhipov really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Sullivan.

Sullivan trying to get back to his feet but Arhipov is in full control for now.
Arhipov has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Sullivan's body.

Arhipov looking to break Sullivan's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Sullivan remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Arhipov will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Arhipov is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Sullivan defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Arhipov is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Arhipov shoots in and gets a takedown into Sullivan's guard.
Sullivan wants to get back to his feet but Arhipov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Sullivan pushes Arhipov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Arhipov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Arhipov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Eugeny Arhipov wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Arhipov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sullivan tries to avoid it but Arhipov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sullivan to the ground. Sullivan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sullivan throws a sloppy head kick and Arhipov moves out of range easily.

Sullivan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Sullivan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Arhipov.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eugeny Arhipov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sullivan lands a nice shot that snaps Arhipov's head back.
Sullivan stuffs the takedown attempt from Arhipov. Arhipov gets slowly back to his feet.
Arhipov pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Sullivan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Arhipov takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Eugeny Arhipov has been cut.
Sullivan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Eugeny Arhipov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Arhipov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sullivan's waist but Sullivan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Arhipov off to one side.
Arhipov takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Eugeny Arhipov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Sullivan thuds his right hand into Arhipov's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sullivan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Sullivan connects with a solid leg kick.
Arhipov gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sullivan throws a nice looking combination but Arhipov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Arhipov has a takedown stuffed.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sullivan.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Arhipov shoots in for a takedown but Sullivan shows good takedown defense.

And that's the end of the fight!
Victor Sullivan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Arhipov has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
