The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Curtis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
simpson shoots for a takedown but Curtis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A head kick misses from Curtis.
simpson tries to close the distance and clinch but Curtis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Curtis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Curtis tries a head kick but it misses.
Curtis throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
simpson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Casey Curtis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of chris simpson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Curtis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Curtis counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
simpson seems to have recovered his senses.
chris simpson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Curtis throws a right hand that simpson ducks under and follows up with a left that simpson also avoids with ease.
simpson tries to clinch up
and Curtis counters with a low kick, right behind simpson 's knee.
Curtis throws a leg kick which misses simpson's front leg but catches the back leg as simpson tries to avoid it.

and Curtis counters with an inside leg kick.

Curtis takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
simpson wants to clinch up but Curtis keeps it at a distance.
simpson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Curtis pinned against the cage. Curtis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Curtis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by simpson.
simpson avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
simpson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Curtis circles away.
Curtis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but simpson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Curtis throws a leg kick but simpson sees it coming and moves out of range.

simpson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Curtis is rocked!

It looks like Casey Curtis has been cut.
simpson lands a hook that stumbles Curtis back into the cage. simpson follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Curtis to the canvas! simpson pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Curtis has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
