Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philco Hitachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Philco Hitachi will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Ruiz.

Hitachi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ruiz to the ground. Hitachi is now in Ruiz's guard.
Hitachi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ruiz keeping moving, preventing Hitachi from controlling successfully.

Ruiz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hitachi postures up and lands a big shot to Ruiz's brow.
Hitachi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ruiz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hitachi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hitachi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ruiz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hitachi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Hitachi distracts Ruiz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Hitachi wants to control from the top but Ruiz keeps moving.

Hitachi is working Ruiz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hitachi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hitachi misses with the ground and pound.
Ruiz takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Ruiz takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Hitachi works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Hitachi scores with a couple of short elbows.
Ruiz managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hitachi.
Hitachi lands some shots froms side control.
Ruiz is breathing heavily.
Ruiz is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Ruiz takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hitachi connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ruiz some visible discomfort.
A big shot lands for Hitachi! That's hurt Ruiz! Will he recover? Hitachi fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
