Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Glenn Kenny!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hank Holliday!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kenny shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Holliday's guard.
Kenny trying to control but Holliday is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kenny working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Holliday looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kenny is one step ahead there.
Kenny prevents Holliday from getting back to his feet.
Kenny trying to control the position from guard on top but Holliday is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kenny has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Holliday is proving hard to escape from.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kenny changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Holliday looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Holliday gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Holliday is trying to control but Kenny manages to pass to mount!
Kenny knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Holliday on the ground.

Kenny looking to sit in guard and control but Holliday gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kenny swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Holliday is now in Kenny's guard. A big mistake from Kenny there, giving up the dominant position!
Kenny is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Holliday is not content to let Kenny control the position.
Kenny is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Holliday is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Holliday is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kenny tries to get to full guard but Holliday has control of the leg.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kenny has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Holliday is working away from the top position though.
Kenny keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Holliday is tying to control. Kenny wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kenny is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Holliday's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Holliday's back!
Kenny slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Kenny is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Kenny has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Holliday's body.

It looks like Hank Holliday has been cut.
Kenny throws a right and a left that Holliday avoids nicely.

Kenny bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Glenn Kenny overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kenny postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kenny uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Holliday.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kenny shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Holliday as he avoids it easily.
Kenny tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Holliday paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Kenny counters by moving into the clinch.

Kenny has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Holliday uses from the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well Kenny has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
