Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lawrence Trainor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boot Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lawrence Trainor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Boot Head!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head misses with an attempted mid kick.
Head throws a looping overhand right but Trainor ducks down to avoid it.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Trainor crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Head - the referee stops the clock and Trainor gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Head. Trainor manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Trainor has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Trainor and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Trainor shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Head sprawls well. Head wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Trainor gets slowly back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Trainor looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Head can do anything to dispel that myth.

Trainor is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Head knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Head for a finish.

We're going to have a standup here because Lawrence Trainor wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Trainor tries to close the distance and clinch but Head swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Trainor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Head tries to avoid it but Trainor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Head to the ground. Head escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Boot Head.
I think Head has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
