Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Koss Rivers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JP Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Romero is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Stooges- The Passenger. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivers is trying hard to land a takedown here. Romero sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rivers.

Romero decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Romero seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. JP Romero was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Rivers lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Romero displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rivers.

JP Romero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Romero is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rivers has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Rivers is looking to improve his position but Romero isn't that keen on the idea.
Rivers's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Rivers is wriggling around trying to escape.
Romero takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Rivers tries to hold on but Romero postures up.
Romero content just to control the position here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rivers is in all sorts of trouble here.

And that's the end of the fight!
JP Romero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Romero has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
