PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fabricio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herpy McDerp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Werdum comes to the cage accompanied by Undisputed. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from McDerp misses.
McDerp misses with a hook.
Werdum shoots in but McDerp avoids the takedown attempt easily.
McDerp fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

McDerp moves into the clinch.
Werdum is trying to drag McDerp to the mat but McDerp just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Still in the clinch, McDerp scores with a nice short uppercut.

McDerp pulls guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now McDerp is on top in guard.
McDerp tries to free his leg and advance position but Werdum is retaining full guard.
McDerp throws a big right hand that misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McDerp postures up in Werdum's guard and throws a big left but Werdum blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McDerp wants to stand but Werdum is controlling his posture from full guard.

McDerp decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Werdum, up you get!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McDerp clobbers Werdum with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Werdum misses with a takedown attempt - McDerp sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fabricio Werdum. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McDerp lands a big shot that drops Werdum! Can he finish him?


It looks like Fabricio Werdum has been cut.
Werdum could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Werdum has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McDerp is working away from the top position though.

Werdum has gone for a leg lock! McDerp slips out almost immediately though and dives into Werdum's guard.

Herpy McDerp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McDerp ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Werdum's jaw. Werdum's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! McDerp does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
