PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Jedard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Linic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jedard kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Creeping Death by Metallica. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Linic rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jedard moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jedard misses with a right hand

and Linic counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jedard won't be happy with that.
Jedard regains half guard.
Well, if Linic is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Linic passes to full mount!
Linic trying to control but Jedard is having none of it.
Jedard is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's one minute gone in the round.
BOOM! Linic connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Linic prevents Jedard from getting the reversal.
Linic tries to control but Jedard wriggling away.
Jedard holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Linic tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Linic is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jedard to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jedard shrugs it off.
Jedard tries to hold on but Linic pushes him away.

Linic has hold of Jedard's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jedard manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Linic throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Linic cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Linic loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Jedard scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Linic land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Linic stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mario Linic!
