PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Lundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karelin has chosen Soviet National Anthem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kyle Lundy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alexander Karelin!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karelin gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nice uppercut lands for Lundy. That snapped Karelin's head back.
Lundy bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Karelin's head backwards.
Lundy shoots in but Karelin avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lundy darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.


Karelin is rocked!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Karelin can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Karelin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lundy can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
A big strike lands for Karelin! That's really hurt Lundy and he's turned his back - Karelin keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Karelin Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Karelin!
