Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elvis Peasly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Shileds!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shileds scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Peasly wants to improve his position but Shileds is controlling well.
Peasly moves into full guard.
Peasly looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shileds is one step ahead there.
Shileds distracts Peasly with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Shileds stopping the sweep attempt from Peasly.

Shileds postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Peasly is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shileds, into his guard.
Peasly passes Shileds's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peasly stalling.

Peasly wants to work for an arm triangle but Shileds is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Peasly is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Peasly looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Peasly is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Shileds!
Shileds looks gassed!

Peasly lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Peasly controlling his opponent.

Peasly working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Peasly looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Peasly wants to control the pace but Shileds is squirming around nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Shileds is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Peasly locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Shileds is forced to tap!
