The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Evans.
Evans misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Evans.

Kukko wants to slow Evans down by chopping away at his legs.
Evans throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kukko.

Kukko sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Evans will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Quinton Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kukko tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Evans swivels and escapes.
