Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Reese!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson fails with the takedown.
Anderson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Anderson looks to clinch
and Reese makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Anderson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Anderson duly obliges.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reese but Reese pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Reese closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Anderson is looking to improve his position.
Reese content to control rather than advance.

Anderson gets full guard.

Anderson is working an open guard so Reese takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Reese takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Anderson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Reese counters with a shoot takedown. Anderson fights it but they end up in guard.

so Reese counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Reese controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Reese prevents Anderson from standing back up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Reese content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Reese was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Anderson jabbing away but nothing is landing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Horrible takedown by Anderson or perhaps it was just good defense by Reese which made him look bad.

Reese dives in and grabs Anderson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Anderson pushes down on Reese's head and hops out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Reese feints and as Anderson raises his hands in defense, Reese changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Anderson is trying to escape the position but Reese is controlling the position.

The referee asks Reese politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Reese prefers to stall for the moment though.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Reese hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Anderson misses with a takedown attempt - Reese sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Reese throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anderson's waist but Anderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reese off to one side.

John Reese showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Reese throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Anderson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Reese is in Anderson's guard.
Anderson wants to stand and escape but Reese is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Reese drops back looking for a leg! Anderson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Anderson manages to kick Reese off! Reese jumps back into Anderson's guard.
Anderson looking for a sweep. Not yet Anderson, not yet.
Reese is stalling in the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Reese manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Reese is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Anderson pulls his head out easily.

I would just about give that final round to John Reese.
I've got Reese winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
