Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Mashio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flint Marko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marko stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Mashio drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Mashio shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Marko napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mashio goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Marko has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mashio but great work by Marko.
Mashio is looking for a sweep.
Mashio has one of Marko's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Marko lands a big left to the face of Mashio, bouncing his head like a basketball. Another shot from Marko and another - Mashio is out! Marko stands up and salutes his fans, who are going crazy in the stands.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Flint Marko!
Flint Marko was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
