The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hudson throws a right hand that Novad ducks under and follows up with a left that Novad also avoids with ease.
Hudson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hudson has picked Novad up - he's going for a ride! Hudson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Novad is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hudson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Novad to the mat. Novad regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hudson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hudson wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Hudson is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Novad is in real trouble.

Hudson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Novad knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Novad for a finish.
