The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kakuno cracks Gracie with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Kakuno ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
A right-left combo lands from Kakuno.
Gracie misses with a body shot.
Good standup being displayed there by Kakuno as he connects with a hook.
Kakuno scores with a jab to the body.
Kakuno throws a head kick that Gracie semi-blocks.
Nice jab there from Kakuno.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Kakuno, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Kakuno against the cage but Kakuno circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gracie checks the leg kick nicely there.
Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kakuno's waist but Kakuno gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.
Nice takedown defense from Kakuno. No joy for Gracie on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royce Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A cross from Kakuno lands.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kakuno - that will leave a mark!
Gracie is breathing heavily.
Nice straight punches there by Kakuno. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kakuno.
Gracie misses with a few strikes there.
Kakuno fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gracie has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kakuno works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Kakuno lands with an uppercut that bounces Gracie off the cage and back into range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kakuno lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Kakuno scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Gracie takes one to the side of the head.

Gracie is rocked!
Kakuno drops Gracie with a naaaaasty hook - Gracie is in real trouble here! Kakuno dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
