Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jesh Masilungan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Howland Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masilungan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Heaven Hell. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jesh Masilungan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Howland Reed!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masilungan throws a sloppy head kick and Reed moves out of range easily.
Reed throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Masilungan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Masilungan misses with a double jab.
Masilungan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Reed lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Masilungan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Masilungan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Some bone on bone action there as Masilungan checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Reed lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Masilungan avoids the body shot from Reed.

Reed walks into a jab.
Masilungan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
No joy there for Masilungan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Reed blocks a leg kick.
Reed throws a right and a left that both miss.
Reed throws a head kick that misses.
Jesh Masilungan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Masilungan connects with a solid leg kick.
Masilungan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Reed has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Masilungan throws a leg kick which misses Reed's front leg but catches the back leg as Reed tries to avoid it.

Masilungan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Masilungan lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Masilungan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Reed moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Masilungan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Masilungan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reed will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Masilungan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Masilungan throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Reed misses with a wild body shot.
Masilungan is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Reed takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Reed is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Masilungan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Reed.
Masilungan wants to slow Reed down by chopping away at his legs.

Reed throws a hook to the side of Masilungan's head but Masilungan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Reed throws a body punch but Masilungan moves out of range.
Masilungan slips a straight right by Reed.
Reed lands a head kick. Masilungan smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Masilungan throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Reed's head.

Masilungan is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Reed throws a wild hook but Masilungan just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Reed gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Masilungan raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jesh Masilungan!
