Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Max Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Allensworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Speed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Allensworth!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, David Schapiro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speed closes the distance and clinches up with Allensworth, looking for a takedown. Speed pushes Allensworth against the cage but Allensworth circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Allensworth needs to keep his hands up - Speed had a free shot at his head there.
Max Speed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Speed falls off balance throwing a combination
and Allensworth counters with a nice body kick.
Allensworth swinging wildly here.
Allensworth throws out a powerful jab.

Allensworth has managed to clinch.

Allensworth breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Speed thows a body shot but no joy.
Speed shoots for a double leg takedown but Allensworth sprawls well. He's pushed Speed's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Allensworth closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Allensworth lands a shoulder strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Allensworth pulls Speed into guard.

Allensworth kicks Speed off and gets to his feet.

Allensworth throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Allensworth lands with a slapping head kick.


Speed is rocked!


It looks like Max Speed has been cut.
Speed keeps the fight on the outside.

Allensworth fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Speed, pushing him back against the cage.
Allensworth displaying some good clinch control by pressing Speed up against the cage.
Speed wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Allensworth scores with a nice hook to the head.
Oh Speed is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Speed wants to break free but Allensworth has control.
Speed seems to have got his legs back now.

Allensworth breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Speed throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

No luck for Speed with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Speed. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Allensworth scores with a kick to the midsection.

Allensworth drives through and clinches with Speed against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Allensworth is pushing Speed up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Allensworth gets through Speed's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Allensworth avoids a wild elbow strike from Speed.

Allensworth breaks the clinch.
Speed stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Speed wants it to stay on the feet.
Allensworth throws a right and a left that both miss.

Allensworth closes the distance and clinches.

Speed fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A body shot lands from Allensworth.

Allensworth has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Speed uses from the top position.
Speed stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Allensworth swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Allensworth has his feet on Speed's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Allensworth is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Speed's half guard.
Speed is trying to control but Allensworth passes into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Speed looks to move to half guard but instead Allensworth has passed into mount! Damn!
Allensworth landing punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Allensworth jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Speed is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Speed and Allensworth has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Allensworth lands some shots froms side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Speed tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Allensworth stands up and beckons Speed to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sloppy strikes from Allensworth. Those never looked like landing.
Allensworth misses with a head kick.
Allensworth stuffs the takedown attempt from Speed. Speed gets slowly back to his feet.
Allensworth throws a head kick that half lands.
Allensworth shoots in and drives through. Speed sprawls well.
Speed tries to clinch up but Allensworth circles away and keeps his distance.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Speed throws a body punch but Allensworth moves out of range.
Allensworth keeps the fight on the outside.

Allensworth shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Allensworth has control of Speed's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Speed regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Allensworth is breathing heavily.

Speed is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Allensworth throwing strikes here but Speed is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Allensworth postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Speed looks a forlorn figure.

Speed is trying desperately to improve position.
Allensworth looking to control and managing it successfully.
Allensworth landing strikes from the mount.
Speed is squirming around, avoiding Allensworth's attempts to control the action.
Speed knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Allensworth on the ground.
Allensworth might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Speed kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Allensworth throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Speed keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Allensworth jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Speed manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Allensworth thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Allensworth tries to advance to mount but Speed denies him.

Speed is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Allensworth is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Speed is wriggling around trying to escape.
Allensworth thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Allensworth working for a submission but Speed is keeping him at bay.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Speed avoids a series of strikes thrown by Allensworth.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charles Allensworth showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Speed throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Allensworth misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Allensworth scores with a push kick.
Allensworth looks to throw the jab but Speed is out of range.
Allensworth throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Speed fails with the takedown
letting Allensworth counter with a right hand.

Allensworth rushes Speed and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Allensworth pushes Speed back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Allensworth comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Allensworth slowing the pace effectively.

The crowd are getting on Allensworth's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Speed goes for a takedown attempt but Allensworth pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Speed changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Allensworth tries to avoid it but Speed manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Allensworth to the ground. Allensworth escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Speed wants to break free but Allensworth has control.
Speed jumps guard but Allensworth stands there with Speed around his waist. Speed gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Speed tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Allensworth smiles and moves away.

Allensworth has taken the fight to the clinch.
Allensworth lands a body shot.
The referee calls for Allensworth to work.
Allensworth makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Allensworth with a knee to the head.

Speed is trying to break free.
Charles Allensworth is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Allensworth stalling against the cage.
Allensworth is trying to drag Speed to the mat but Speed just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Speed looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Speed is working for takedown but Allensworth is calmly controlling the position for now.
Speed letting Allensworth take a breather here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Charles Allensworth comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Allensworth has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
