Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Rockhold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Macgowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Macgowan has chosen Nyan Cat as his entrance music. The key to victory for Kyle Rockhold has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Rockhold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Greg Macgowan!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macgowan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Rockhold has a takedown stuffed.

Macgowan lands a left and a right that send Rockhold crashing to the mat, dazed. Macgowan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Rockhold is rocked!
Macgowan tries to bum rush Rockhold with a series of wild strikes but Rockhold uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Oh Rockhold is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Macgowan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rockhold to the ground. Macgowan is now in Rockhold's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Macgowan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rockhold manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Macgowan has Rockhold in his guard.
Rockhold advances to half guard.
Macgowan tries to kick Rockhold off but Rockhold keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Rockhold seems to have got his legs back now.
Rockhold prevents Macgowan from improving his position.
Rockhold really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rockhold misses with a head shot. Macgowan uses the momentum to regain guard.
Rockhold is looking to advance position but Macgowan has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Macgowan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rockhold is looking to escape.
Macgowan avoids the attempt from Rockhold to control.
Macgowan fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rockhold sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Rockhold wants to get back to his feet.
Macgowan not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Macgowan decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Rockhold slips a jab and a cross from Macgowan.

Macgowan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Macgowan stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

and Rockhold cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rockhold fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Macgowan avoids it really well and circles away.
Rockhold is breathing heavily.
Macgowan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rockhold counters with a nice body shot.
A solid leg kick lands there for Macgowan.
Rockhold fails to land the takedown.

Macgowan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rockhold shoots in and drives through. Macgowan sprawls well.

Macgowan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rockhold on his heels. He'll look to pass Rockhold's guard now, I'm sure.

Macgowan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Macgowan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rockhold manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Macgowan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rockhold tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Macgowan wants to pass the guard but Rockhold is keeping the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Macgowan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Macgowan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rockhold looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Macgowan dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Macgowan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rockhold tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Macgowan is in Rockhold's guard.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Rockhold. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Macgowan throws a right hand that Rockhold ducks under and follows up with a left that Rockhold also avoids with ease.

Macgowan is looking to take a break and control but Rockhold is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rockhold moves in looking to clinch but Macgowan pushes him off.
Rockhold tries to score a power double leg takedown but Macgowan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rockhold somewhat.
Kyle Rockhold is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rockhold takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Macgowan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Rockhold will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Rockhold working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Macgowan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Macgowan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Macgowan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
