The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goplata fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Goplata rushes Florence and presses him up against the cage.
Goplata jumps guard but Florence stands there with Goplata around his waist. Goplata gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Florence really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Florence is trying to break the clinch but Goplata has him pressed against the cage.

Florence keeping moving, preventing Goplata from controlling successfully.
Florence not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goplata missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Goplata postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Florence is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Goplata, into his guard.

Florence prevents Goplata from improving his position.
Goplata has a hand on Florence's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Florence takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Goplata is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Florence really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Goplata.

Goplata is trying to defend against the choke here but Florence has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Florence Tightens the hold and Goplata taps out furiously! Florence displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
