Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Philippe Rothschild!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Endo Hattori!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hattori throws a head kick but Rothschild moves out of range.
Hattori rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rothschild moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hattori will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice sprawl there from Hattori as Rothschild shoots in.
Hattori throws a series of punches but Rothschild moves out of range.

Rothschild rushes Hattori and presses him up against the cage.

Rothschild has picked Hattori up - he's going for a ride! Rothschild dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Rothschild wants to pass the guard but Hattori is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rothschild shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hattori manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rothschild gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hattori.

Rothschild ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rothschild no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Rothschild ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hattori moves away.
Endo Hattori is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rothschild checks the leg kick.
Rothschild dives in and grabs Hattori's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hattori pushes down on Rothschild's head and hops out.
No joy there for Hattori, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Rothschild holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Hattori defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rothschild.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Rothschild darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rothschild is taking a breather. Hattori says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Rothschild is controlling Hattori's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rothschild has his foot on Hattori's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hattori works his way back into a safe position though.

Rothschild is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Hattori must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Philippe Rothschild just wasn't active enough.
Hattori slaps away a takedown attempt from Rothschild, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Hattori throws a nice looking combination but Rothschild bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rothschild shoots in and bounces Hattori off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hattori is breathing heavily.

Hattori is working an open guard so Rothschild takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Rothschild closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rothschild lands in his opponent's guard.
Rothschild pushes down on Hattori's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Rothschild stands up and beckons Hattori to join him on the feet.
Hattori throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rothschild on the side of the head.

Hattori avoids the head kick by Rothschild.
Rothschild takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Rothschild shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rothschild showed some decent athleticism there.

Hattori throws a sloppy head kick and Rothschild moves out of range easily.

Rothschild clinches up with Hattori and pushes him back against the cage.

Rothschild is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hattori can do to turn this around?

Hattori controls Rothschild momentarily but Rothschild frees himself.

Hattori is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Rothschild throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hattori tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rothschild is in Hattori's guard.
Hattori takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rothschild sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hattori's guard.
Well, if Rothschild is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rothschild, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
