PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tony Kazarian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hindu Kush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kazarian comes to the cage accompanied by Limp Bizkit - My Way. Hindu Kush will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Kazarian!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hindu Kush!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazarian throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kush.
Kush throws a lazy right hand but Kazarian sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice sprawl there from Kazarian as Kush shoots in.
Kush fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Kazarian closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kush quickly recovers to half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Kazarian seems to be working for a kimura but Kush defends the submission attempt.

Kazarian controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Tony Kazarian wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Kush gets caught flat footed, as Kazarian shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kush utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kazarian loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kazarian will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kazarian creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kush sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Kush tries to bench press Kazarian off him but Kazarian keeps the position.

Kush parries the strikes from Kazarian easily there. Kazarian is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kush to escape.

Kazarian tries to score with some ground and pound. Kush controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kazarian is looking to take a break and control but Kush is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kush takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Kazarian's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kazarian pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kazarian looks to land a body kick but Kush moved away.
Kazarian swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kush throws a hook but Kazarian avoids it easily.
Kazarian drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kazarian blocks a jab.
Kazarian uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kush.
Tony Kazarian is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kazarian misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Both fighters circling a little - Kazarian finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Kazarian looks to score with a jab to the body but Kush is just out of range.
Kazarian moves out of range as Kush strikes.
Kush fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kazarian manages to avoid it.

Kush gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kazarian to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Tony Kazarian overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kush looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kazarian is one step ahead there.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kazarian accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kazarian has gone for a leg lock! Kush slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kazarian's guard.

Kush stands and throws Kazarian's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kazarian wants to control but Kush postures up.
Kazarian prevents Kush from moving into mount.
Kazarian sneaks back into half guard.
Kush is keen to just control but Kazarian is a slippery customer.
Kazarian has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kush is working away from the top position though.
Kazarian regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kazarian is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kush trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Kazarian is looking to sinch up a triangle. Kush throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kazarian's body to avoid the submission. Kazarian has instead reached around Kush's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kazarian arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tony Kazarian!

An out of breath Tony Kazarian thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
