PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miroslav Foka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zero Udala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Udala has chosen The Beach Boys - Wouldn't it be nice as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Zero Udala will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zero Udala!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Udala tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Foka paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Udala fails with an attempt to clinch.
Foka misses with a takedown attempt - Udala sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nice takedown defense from Udala. No joy for Foka on that attempt.
Udala lands with a thumping leg kick.

Udala gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Udala is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Foka loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Udala tries to close the distance and clinch but Foka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Foka shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Foka was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Udala throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Horrible takedown by Foka or perhaps it was just good defense by Udala which made him look bad.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Foka looking to control and managing it successfully.
Udala's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Foka lands a heavy elbow.
Foka with the ground and pound from mount.

Miroslav Foka showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Foka, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
