Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trey Little (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joakim Holmgren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joakim Holmgren will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmgren lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Little keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Holmgren is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Holmgren is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holmgren misses with a takedown attempt - Little sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Little shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Holmgren sprawls well. Holmgren wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Little gets slowly back to his feet.
Holmgren tries to clinch there but Little circles away.

Holmgren avoids the head kick by Little.
Little has his takedown stuffed

and Holmgren holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trey Little. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Holmgren manages to pull guard.
Little working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Little's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Little is working Holmgren over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Little trying to control but Holmgren is working from the bottom.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Little throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Holmgren is trying to stand.

Little looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Holmgren with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Little seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Holmgren on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Little uses his free foot to push down on Holmgren's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Holmgren.

Little wants to control the pace but Holmgren is squirming around nicely.

Little is landing with some decent strikes but Holmgren is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Little breaks from Holmgren's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Little working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Holmgren turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Little off and cradles Holmgren's limp body as Little celebrates with his corner.
