PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Blue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gorge Fernus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Blue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gorge Fernus!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blue shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Fernus is trying to maintain the position but Blue is very close to passing his half guard.
Fernus gets full guard.
Fernus looking to control but Blue passes into half guard.
Fernus wants to improve his position but Blue is controlling well.
Blue drops an elbow to the side of Fernus's head.
Blue thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fernus's head.
Blue working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Blue drops an elbow to the side of Fernus's head.
Fernus trying to control but Blue postures up.
Fernus might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Blue kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Fernus is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Blue is staying active.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blue is pressing down on Fernus's thigh, looking to free his foot. Fernus is holding on for now.
Blue passes into side control, despite Fernus's attempt to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blue scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Fernus to see if he's OK.
Fernus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Blue wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fernus is trying to control Blue's posture but Blue avoids it.
Blue in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Fernus regains half guard.
Blue scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Fernus has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Blue is working away from the top position though.
Blue is nestled in close to Fernus, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Blue connects with a nice short shot to Fernus's temple.

Fernus is still in real trouble! Can Blue finish him?
Blue scores with a big shot! Fernus's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Fernus! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
