Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akira Kurosawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Clooten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kurosawa comes to the cage accompanied by War drums. Clooten is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hot Ride by The Prodigy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Akira Kurosawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Clooten!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clooten throws the left hand but Kurosawa avoids the punch easily.
Kurosawa fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kurosawa lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Clooten has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Clooten and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kurosawa tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kurosawa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Clooten misses with a hook.
Kurosawa throws out a leg kick but Clooten moves out of range and Kurosawa only half commits.

Kurosawa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No joy there for Clooten, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kurosawa closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Clooten quickly recovers to half guard.

Kurosawa seems to be working for a kimura but Clooten defends the submission attempt.

Kurosawa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Clooten's head.
Kurosawa wants to pass to mount but Clooten is defending the position.

Kurosawa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Clooten doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kurosawa.

Kurosawa looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Kurosawa has hold of Clooten's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Clooten manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kurosawa is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Clooten has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Clooten!

Kurosawa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Clooten gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kurosawa has his foot on Clooten's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clooten works his way back into a safe position though.

Kurosawa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Clooten defends it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Clooten pushes down on Kurosawa's leg and manages to get into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akira Kurosawa dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
