Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maddox Monson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gyver Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monson tries to clinch there but Dos Santos circles away.

Dos Santos gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Monson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dos Santos pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Dos Santos lands an elbow that stopped Monson in his tracks for a moment.

Dos Santos pulls guard successfully.
Monson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Monson looking to sit in guard and control but Dos Santos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dos Santos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Monson tries to bench press Dos Santos off him but Dos Santos keeps the position.

Dos Santos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Monson keeps working.
Monson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dos Santos decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Dos Santos plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
A decent looking cross lands there for Monson.
Monson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dos Santos sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Monson wants to clinch but Dos Santos slips to the side
and Dos Santos counters with a head kick. That will keep Monson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Monson shoots for a takedown but Dos Santos saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maddox Monson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dos Santos's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Monson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dos Santos scrambles back to his feet.
Dos Santos tries to clinch but Monson moves out of range.
Dos Santos pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Maddox Monson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dos Santos is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Monson.

A close round but Gyver Dos Santos will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Monson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dos Santos moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Monson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dos Santos as he jumps to the side.

Dos Santos gets control of Monson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dos Santos will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Monson lands with a hook. Dos Santos tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Dos Santos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Monson tries to clinch but Dos Santos moves out of range.
A bone on bone clash there as Dos Santos blocks the leg kick.
Monson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dos Santos as he avoids it easily.

and Dos Santos counters with a head kick. That will keep Monson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Dos Santos with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Monson to score with a decent uppercut.

Dos Santos leaves Monson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Dos Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Monson's waist but Monson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dos Santos off to one side.
Monson feints a jab promting Dos Santos to slip. Monson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dos Santos slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Monson tries for a takedown but Dos Santos sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dos Santos doesn't manage to clinch there - Monson circles away.

Monson is trying to push Dos Santos away but Dos Santos has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Monson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dos Santos circles away quickly and effectively.

Monson throws a series of punches but Dos Santos avoids them all with ease.
Monson shoots in looking for a takedown. Dos Santos tries to sprawl out of it but Monson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dos Santos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gyver Dos Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dos Santos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
