PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mick Radley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Super Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mick Radley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Super Hero!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hero moves into the clinch.

Hero is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Radley can't fight it off and eventually Hero manages to take the fight to the floor. Radley looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hero wants to control from the top but Radley keeps moving.

Radley has his foot on Hero's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hero works his way back into a safe position though.
Hero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Radley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Radley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hero doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hero manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Radley throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hero uses it to pass to side control.

Radley is looking to reverse the position.

Radley is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Hero postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Hero with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Hero lands a couple of digs.

Hero stands up over Radley, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hero cracks Radley with a solid left hand.

Hero trying to control the position from guard on top but Radley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hero slips a nice elbow through Radley's hands, connecting with Radley's forehead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Super Hero dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Hero closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hero misses with a knee strike.
Radley tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Hero has clasped his hands together around Radley's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Radley is looking for a sweep.

Radley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hero is working away from the top position though.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Well, if Hero is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Super Hero hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Hero dives in and scores a takedown into Radley's guard.

Radley throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hero uses it to pass to side control.
Hero prevents Radley from escaping the position.
Super Hero has got the better of the ground game so far.
Radley seems a little lost for a moment, as Hero dominates the positioning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hero lands a nice forearm strike.
Radley takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hero is putting a hurting on Radley here, landing some big shots from side control.
Hero in side control lands a decent elbow.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Radley is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Hero cracks Radley with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Radley takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Super Hero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Hero rushes Radley and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hero misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Radley.
Hero can't get the takedown.
Hero has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Radley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hero keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Radley's efforts to push away.
Radley wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Hero has Radley pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hero pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Radley tumbling to the mat - Hero dives into Radley's guard.

Hero is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Hero perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Radley has hold of Hero's hands but Hero slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hero working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hero wants to take a breather but Radley is having none of it.
Radley is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hero scores with a couple of nice shots.
Well, if Hero is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mick Radley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Super Hero.
Radley closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hero circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Radley misses with a jab, cross combination.

Hero rushes Radley and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Super Hero is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hero drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Radley gets the underhooks and prevents it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Super Hero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hero has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
