Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zhang Zhu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Derek Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zhang Zhu!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz avoids the head kick by Zhu.
Zhu pivots, looking for a leg kick but Diaz is out of range and Zhu settles back down.
Zhu tries to score with a low kick but Diaz moves his leg out of the way.
Zhu with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Zhu shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Zhu takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Diaz misses with a wild combination.
Diaz scores with the left hand. Zhu knows he should have avoided that one.
It looks like Zhang Zhu has been cut.
Diaz walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Zhu checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Diaz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Zhu thumps Diaz with a low kick.
Zhu will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Diaz throws a series of punches but Zhu avoids them all with ease.
Diaz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Zhu counters with a takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Diaz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Zhu off and has taken his back!
Zhu is trying to defend against the choke here but Diaz has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Diaz Tightens the hold and Zhu taps out furiously! Diaz displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Derek Diaz!
