Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richie Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Ernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richie Spencer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cain Ernandez!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer tries to clinch up but Ernandez circles away and keeps his distance.

Ernandez has closed the distance and engaged Spencer in a clinch.
Spencer looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Ernandez wants a takedown.
Ernandez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Spencer keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ernandez's efforts to push away.

Ernandez pulls Spencer into guard.
Spencer wants to stand but Ernandez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Ernandez keeping moving, preventing Spencer from controlling successfully.
Spencer is looking to stand up but Ernandez won't let him.

Ernandez has his foot on Spencer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spencer works his way back into a safe position though.
Spencer trying to control the position from guard on top but Ernandez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Spencer stops Ernandez from standing up.

Ernandez lands a decent punch to the body there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ernandez is on top in guard.
Spencer wants to stand and escape but Ernandez is having none of it.
Ernandez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Spencer looking to control but Ernandez passes into half guard.

Ernandez stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Ernandez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spencer as he avoids it easily.

Ernandez forces Spencer back against the cage and clinches.
Ernandez wants to break free but Spencer has control.
The referee is keeping an eye on Spencer - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Ernandez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Spencer regains guard immediately.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Spencer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ernandez stands and steps away. Spencer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Spencer feints and then cracks Ernandez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ernandez down.
Ernandez keeps the fight on the outside.

Spencer stuffs the takedown attempt from Ernandez. Ernandez gets slowly back to his feet.
Richie Spencer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Ernandez.
Spencer tries to clinch up.
A chopping leg kick lands by Spencer.
Ernandez throws a head kick but Spencer moves out of range.
Spencer is looking to clinch but Ernandez is avoiding it.
Spencer throws an overhand right that lands on Ernandez's shoulder, as Ernandez tries to avoid the shot.
Nice defenses there by Ernandez.
Ernandez shoots for a double leg takedown but Spencer sprawls well. He's pushed Ernandez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Spencer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Spencer connects with a solid leg kick.
Ernandez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Spencer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Ernandez's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Spencer looking to throw knees to the head but Ernandez is blocking nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spencer tries to land a knee to the head but Ernandez blocks with his arms.
Spencer using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ernandez has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Ernandez tries for a takedown but Spencer manages to get underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Cain Ernandez will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Spencer throws a head kick that misses.
Ernandez misses with an attempted mid kick.
Spencer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ernandez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ernandez avoids the head kick by Spencer.
A slapping leg kick lands for Spencer.
Spencer leaves Ernandez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ernandez closes the distance and clinches up with Spencer, looking for a takedown. Ernandez pushes Spencer against the cage but Spencer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ernandez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Spencer.
Spencer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Spencer attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Ernandez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spencer tries to avoid it but Ernandez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spencer to the ground. Spencer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Richie Spencer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Ernandez.

Spencer throws a head kick but Ernandez moves out of range.

Ernandez has taken the fight to the clinch.

Ernandez is breathing heavily.
Spencer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Spencer landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Ernandez is trying to drag Spencer to the mat but Spencer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Ernandez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ernandez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Spencer manages to get to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ernandez won't allow Spencer to sweep him here.

Spencer wants to get back to his feet but Ernandez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ernandez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cain Ernandez has got the better of the ground game so far.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Spencer misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ernandez.
Spencer could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ernandez shoots in for a double leg but Spencer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cain Ernandez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ernandez looks to score with a jab to the body but Spencer is just out of range.
