Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Huuj Dong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Slavovick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Huuj Dong has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Huuj Dong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dante Slavovick!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dong feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dong stands and throws Slavovick's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Dong tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dong has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Slavovick tries to buck Dong off but Dong is having none of it.

Dong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dong postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Slavovick is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Dong off and has taken his back!

Slavovick is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Dong has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Slavovick has the hooks in. Dong is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Slavovick is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dong can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Slavovick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dong decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Slavovick, up you get!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dong.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Slavovick wants to clinch.
Dong changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slavovick tries to avoid it but Dong manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slavovick to the ground. Slavovick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Slavovick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Dong has given up his back here.
Dong manages to reverse the position and now he's in Slavovick's guard. Nice work there by Dong.

Slavovick might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dong kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Dong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slavovick swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Slavovick changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dong looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dong is looking to reverse the position.
Dong manages to get back to half guard.
Dong is trying to maintain the position but Slavovick is very close to passing his half guard.
Dong gets back to full guard.

Dong escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Slavovick gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dong is refusing to be controlled, as Slavovick sits in half guard.
Dong is looking for a sweep. Slavovick is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Dante Slavovick will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Huuj Dong overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dong is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Slavovick defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Slavovick is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dong gets his way!

Dong is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Slavovick has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Dong has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Slavovick taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Dong doesn't care though - he's delighted!
