PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Earnie Dingo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ulf Glans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glans has chosen Raubtier - Dobermann as his entrance music. Earnie Dingo is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Earnie Dingo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ulf Glans!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dingo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dingo showed some decent athleticism there.
Glans trying to control but Dingo postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dingo in particular looking to stall.
Dingo is thwarting Glans's attempts to control the position.
Glans wants to get back to full guard.

Dingo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Dingo is tying to control. Glans wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Glans trying to hold on to Dingo's head to control him but Dingo postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Dingo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Glans looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dingo wants to stand but Glans has his arm trapped.
Dingo misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Dingo decides to stand back up.

Dingo drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dingo is breathing heavily.
Glans trying to control the position.
Dingo wants to control from the top but Glans keeps moving.

Glans is looking to stand up but Dingo isn't so interested in that idea.

Dingo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Glans lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dingo!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dingo tries to hold on but Glans pushes him away.
Dingo tries to reverse the position but Glans maintains control.

Glans looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Dingo defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Glans.
Dingo is trying desperately to improve position.

Glans wants to finish this one by submission but Dingo is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Glans.
Dingo tries to hold on but Glans postures up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Glans fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dingo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dingo wants to hold on but Glans pushes him away.
Glans lands a big elbow.
Dingo is squirming around, avoiding Glans's attempts to control the action.
Dingo can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Glans working for a submission but Dingo is keeping him at bay.
Dingo tries to lock up and control but Glans gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Earnie Dingo dominated that round.
That's time! Dingo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Dingo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dingo has gone for a leg lock! Glans slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dingo's guard.
Dingo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Dingo is looking for a triangle but Glans pushes his legs off easily.
Glans won't allow Dingo to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Glans drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dingo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dingo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dingo!
Glans is breathing heavily.

Dingo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Glans has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dingo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Glans is not content to let Dingo control the position.
Dingo taking a breather here.
Dingo working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dingo tries to score with some ground and pound. Glans controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Dingo wants to control but Glans is keeping him busy.
Glans is throwing a few token shots, despite Dingo being in side control.
Glans manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dingo's best efforts.

Earnie Dingo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dingo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Glans knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Glans wants to control but Dingo is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dingo shoots for a takedown but Glans saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Glans clinches.
Glans gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Dingo.
Dingo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Glans is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Earnie Dingo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dingo tries for a takedown but Glans manages to get underhooks.
Glans can't get the takedown.
Glans prevents a takedown attempt there.
Glans wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Dingo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Glans's guard.

Dingo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Glans is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Glans has escaped and now he's on top!

Glans trying to control the position from guard on top but Dingo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dingo wants to sweep but no luck.
Dingo controlling Glans's posture.
Dingo keeping moving, preventing Glans from controlling successfully.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Dingo misses with a takedown attempt - Glans sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dingo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Glans tries to clinch up but Dingo circles away and keeps his distance.
Glans closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dingo circles away.
Glans tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dingo swivels and escapes.
Glans will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Earnie Dingo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ulf Glans.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Dingo.

Dingo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dingo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Glans sneaks back into half guard.

Glans is in trouble now - Dingo has advanced to mount!
Dingo controlling from mount.
Dingo trying to control but Glans is having none of it.
Glans bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dingo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dingo wants to sweep here but Glans controlling him for the moment.
Dingo keeping moving, preventing Glans from controlling successfully.

Glans is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dingo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dingo has escaped and now he's on top!

Dingo wants to control from the top but Glans keeps moving.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dingo works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Glans avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dingo.

Dingo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dingo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Dingo trying to control from Glans's half guard. Glans has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Dingo drops back looking for a leg! Glans is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Glans manages to kick Dingo off! Dingo jumps back into Glans's guard.
Dingo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Dingo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Glans dives on top into guard.
Dingo is trying to control the position but Glans postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Glans trying to control but Dingo is working from the bottom.
Ulf Glans has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Glans is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

And that's the end of the fight!
Earnie Dingo showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dingo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
