PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Niob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Kreigmacher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kreigmacher has chosen Seek and Destroy by Metallica as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niob checks a low kick from Kreigmacher.
Niob avoids a kick to the body.
Kreigmacher does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Kreigmacher closes the distance and clinches.
Kreigmacher blocks the elbow strike.
Kreigmacher avoids the elbow strike from Niob, against the cage.

Niob breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kreigmacher connects with a high kick.

It looks like Nick Niob has been cut.

Kreigmacher drives through and clinches with Niob against the cage.
Niob is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

It looks like Sven Kreigmacher has been cut.
Kreigmacher pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Kreigmacher tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Kreigmacher dodges an elbow strike from Niob.
Niob gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Kreigmacher blocks the elbow strike.
Niob's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Niob breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Niob is breathing heavily.
Niob takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kreigmacher throws a right hand that Niob ducks under and follows up with a left that Niob also avoids with ease.
Kreigmacher scores with a nice body kick.
Kreigmacher throws a leg kick which misses Niob's front leg but catches the back leg as Niob tries to avoid it.

Kreigmacher lands a leg kick that knocks Niob off balance momentarily.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kreigmacher.
Kreigmacher lands a head kick. Niob smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Kreigmacher thumps Niob with a low kick.
An inside leg kick lands from Kreigmacher.
Kreigmacher looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Kreigmacher backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Niob's temple! It sends Niob violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Kreigmacher celebrates and the doctors try to help Niob!
