Dooling comes to the cage accompanied by Rush - Tom Sawyer. Heath Dooling has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Townsend pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Townsend connects with a leg kick. Dooling looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Townsend shoots for a double leg takedown but Dooling sprawls well. He's pushed Townsend's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Townsend looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Dooling fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Townsend sprawls well initially but Dooling persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
