Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harvi Kalaso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Verona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kalaso comes to the cage accompanied by shut em down. Verona has chosen Dawn Patrol by The Eliminators as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kalaso looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Verona!
Verona is bucking up trying to escape but Kalaso cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Verona's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
A nice elbow there by Kalaso.

Kalaso has control of Verona's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Verona regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Verona tries to control Kalaso's body but Kalaso pushes him off. Verona squirms to his side and now Kalaso has his back!
Kalaso tries to keep control of the position but Verona is staying busy.

Kalaso is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Verona is defending well though. Kalaso let's go of the attempt for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kalaso controlling the position well here. Verona rolled but Kalaso kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Kalaso is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Kalaso slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Verona has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Kalaso.
Verona is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Kalaso is looking for the choke from the back position but Verona is controlling his hands well.

Verona tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Kalaso tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Verona regains half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kalaso is pressing down on Verona's thigh, looking to free his foot. Verona is holding on for now.

Verona is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Kalaso has latched onto it... Big trouble! Kalaso pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Verona is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Kalaso!
