Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rollo Smek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel Rehel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rollo Smek has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rollo Smek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joel Rehel!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rehel throws a series of punches but Smek moves out of range.

Smek clinches up against the cage.
Nice body punch from Smek - that landed with a thud.

Smek has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rehel clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Rehel is trying to stand back up.

Smek is really struggling to control Rehel but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Smek closes the distance and clinches up with Rehel, looking for a takedown. Smek pushes Rehel against the cage but Rehel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Rehel lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rehel.

Smek fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rehel manages to avoid it.

Joel Rehel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Smek shoots in and bounces Rehel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Smek stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rehel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rehel wants to stand but Smek is controlling the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rehel stuffs the takedown.
Smek throws an off balance right hand
and Rehel counters with a one-two to the body.
Rehel connects with a good right hand that stumbles Smek. Smek circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Rehel misses with a double jab.
Smek looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Rehel might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Smek misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rehel lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Smek shoots in looking for a takedown. Rehel tries to sprawl out of it but Smek keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rehel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Smek takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Smek counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Rehel pushes Smek off looking to stand but Smek dives back in and keeps control.

Smek seems to be looking for submissions.
Rollo Smek has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rehel is trying to stand.
Smek moves into full mount! Rehel won't be happy about that!
Smek can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rehel is looking to escape.
Rehel takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rollo Smek.
I think Rehel has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
