PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Beast Rabban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otou Hek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hek comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Tha Playah kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Beast Rabban has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Beast Rabban!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Otou Hek!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rabban fails with a takedown attempt.
Rabban shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hek defends it nicely.

and Rabban counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rabban.

Rabban gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Rabban instigates a clinch.

Rabban turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rabban manages to end up in side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hek is trying to control Rabban's posture but Rabban avoids it.
Rabban postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hek tries to improve position but can't.
Rabban really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hek wants to control but Rabban postures up.
Rabban in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Rabban postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Rabban creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hek sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Rabban sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hek is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Hek had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rabban defends it easily.

Hek looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hek is controlling Rabban's posture.

Rabban wants to control from the top but Hek keeps moving.
Rabban throws and elbow that misses. Hek uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rabban's guard. Nice move by Hek!

Rabban distracts Hek with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rabban throws a strike but Hek rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Rabban lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hek!

Rabban lands a nice shot to the head.
Rabban throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Rabban swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hek is now in Rabban's guard. A big mistake from Rabban there, giving up the dominant position!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rabban looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hek is one step ahead there.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hek trying to control the position from guard on top but Rabban is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hek shoots in for a takedown but Rabban shows good takedown defense.

Rabban throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hek was covering up waiting for the punch and Rabban finishes the takedown easily into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rabban accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rabban drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hek dives on top into guard.
Hek postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Rabban wants to sweep here but Hek controlling him for the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Otou Hek wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hek looks for a takedown but Rabban sprawls well.
Rabban chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hek can pounce on him.

Hek tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rabban swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hek throws a wild body kick that Rabban sees coming a mile off.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hek is on top in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rabban not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Rabban looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rabban is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hek stands up over Rabban, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Hek can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rabban is looking to escape.
Rabban is bucking up trying to escape but Hek cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Rabban has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hek lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Beast Rabban overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Otou Hek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Rabban stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hek swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Beast Rabban showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Rabban has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
