PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Tahvonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaarlo Volkano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Volkano has chosen Kvelertak - Blodtørst as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkano shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tahvonen as he jumps to the side.
Tahvonen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tahvonen there as he acknowledges the shot.
Volkano lands a jab.
Tahvonen takes a swing at Volkano's ribcage but misses.
Tahvonen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tahvonen misses with an uppercut.

Tahvonen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Volkano looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Tahvonen working the strikes but Volkano uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Volkano is refusing to be controlled, as Tahvonen sits in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Volkano works his way to full guard. Good work.

Tahvonen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Volkano is keeping the position for now.
Volkano has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Tahvonen tries to free his leg and advance position but Volkano is retaining full guard.
Tahvonen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Volkano has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Tahvonen should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Volkano has tightened it up now! Tahvonen should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
