Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shina Aoyki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Jong Il (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jong Il has chosen Lights by Interpol as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Shina Aoyki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Jong Il!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoyki throws a shot from downtown. Jong Il moves away and avoids it.

Aoyki tries to sprawl but Jong Il drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Jong Il working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Aoyki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jong Il is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Aoyki reverses the position - he's now on top in Jong Il's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Jong Il counters with a three punch combo that has Aoyki backing up. Aoyki nods at Jong Il to acknowledge the strikes.

Jong Il will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jong Il throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jong Il throws the left hand but Aoyki avoids the punch easily.
Jong Il throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Aoyki is desperately trying to improve his position but Jong Il has a good base and remains in mount.
Jong Il cracks Aoyki with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Jong Il takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Aoyki is doing well to control the position and prevent Jong Il from advancing to side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Aoyki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jong Il defends well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aoyki wants to sweep here but Jong Il controlling him for the moment.
Jong Il is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Aoyki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jong Il's guard.

Jong Il is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kim Jong Il hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Aoyki shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Aoyki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jong Il paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Aoyki throws a hook to the side of Jong Il's head but Jong Il sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jong Il takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

A telegraphed right hand from Jong Il misses the target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Aoyki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Aoyki's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Jong Il is holding on here and Aoyki must be using up a lot of energy. Jong Il has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Aoyki gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
